Many games today are being released and marketed in mobile version. Due to the increasing demand for entertainment, mobile games become very popular especially in teenagers and younger generation. Mobile Legends is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) mobile game in which each player controls a single character, usually on a map in an isometric perspective, as part of a team competing against another team of players. Gameplay
Each match starts with two opposing teams made up of five (5) players each team. Players work together as a team to achieve the ultimate victory condition which is to destroy their enemy's base.
A player controls a single powerful in-game unit, called "hero". When a hero stands near a killed enemy unit or kills an enemy unit, they gain experience points and gold which allow the hero to level up and buy items at a store. When a hero levels up, they have the ability to strengthen their set of skills. If a hero’s health goes down and dies, he is removed from active play until he is respawned. The hero will respawn in his team’s base. Respawn time increases as hero levels up.
The player may choose his hero in the beginning of the match and he may not change his hero after he locked into it. Heroes are grouped into different roles or assignment: Tank, Mage, Assassin, Support, Marksman and Fighter. Each team must be composed of a balanced line-up to have a higher chance of winning the game. The ideal set-up of the team must be: 1 Tank, 1 Support, 1 Assassin or 1 Mage, 1 Marksman and 1 Fighter or 1 Assassin. The team may be flexible in the composition of the line-up based on their team strategy. However, for those who play the game in “Solo” mode and will only be matched with teammates online, it is best to have a balanced team composition for a higher chance of winning.
The map is divided into three lanes: TOP, MIDDLE, and BOTTOM lane. These lanes connect the bases of one another. Each base has 3 defense towers per lane that protect the base from being destroyed by the opposing team. The primary goal of the team is to destroy these defense towers and reach for the enemy’s base to destroy it. The team may not win due to the number of hero-kills. However, killing enemy heroes is an integral part of the game to gain strength and easily destroy the defense towers protecting the base.
1 casual round of Mobile Legends Bang Bang typically lasts for 15 to 20 minutes depending on the aggression of the team. In tournament setting, 1 round may only last for 8 to 10 minutes if there is an overwhelming winning team strategy. This is how mobile it is for a game compared to its identical PC game, Defense of the Ancients 2 (Dota 2), where 1 round of game may last for an average play time of 45 minutes.
In this game, you do not need to be the strongest hero of the round. You must be the Most Valuable Player where you focus yourself in gaining the strength, not for the mere hero kill, but for your team to quickly destroy the enemy’s base.
